Projects

Homelab

I maintain a homelab that has undergone various iterations over the years. The current setup is as follows:

  • Hyper-V Failover Cluster
    • HPE Proliant ML350 Gen9 Host running Hyper-V with nested 3-node Hyper-V Failover Cluster
    • VMs run Windows Server Datacenter Core 2022, managed from a Windows Server 2022 jumpbox with Windows Admin Center, RSAT, and Server Manager
    • FortiGate/managed FortiSwitch configured to isolate lab network.
    • Entra ID Connect configured to an M365 Developer tenant for Identity Management.
    • Shared storage through iSCSI to Synology NAS.
  • Proxmox NUC Cluster
    • 3-node physical Proxmox cluster hosted on cheap Lenovo NUCs
    • Shared storage through NFS to Synology NAS.
    • Hosts services on my main home network
    • Docker Container host runs Pi-hole for DNS, Traefix, and self-hosted BitWarden

M365 Developer Tenant and Azure Subscription

I make frequent use of an M365 Developer tenant and a separate, personal Azure subscription for VMs, projects, and reviewing new Microsoft features

  • Cloud Resume Challenge, an Azure static website deployed using Bicep templates and CI/CD through GitHub Actions, inspired by the eponymous Cloud Resume Challenge
  • Hyper-V Failover Cluster on-premises management via Azure Arc.
  • Virtual Machines deployed via Bicep templates with internal network access via Virtual Network Gateway S2S.
  • Fleet of Entra ID-joined VMs with updates and application deployemnts managed by WinGet and Intune.
  • Conditional Access templates deployed via MS Graph PowerShell SDK for MFA.
